Sunshine and Blue Skies follows Maxwell, a retired gunman who used to live a life of crime. After faking his own death with his husband Dylan, he retired to America and began to live a normal life. But our pasts have a way of catching up to us. After several years of living an honest life, Maxwell receives a call from an old ally, Deleon, who wants to cash in an owed favor. With no other choice, Maxwell goes to Moscow to complete one last job and hopefully never has to pick up his gun again. 

Tragedy strikes when Maxwell is attacked and injured trying to escape. The circumstances of the attack line up too well for it to be anything other than sabotage. But who could it be and why have they put out a hit on Maxwell and his family?
